Following the signing of a strategic agreement with one of the largest and oldest Chinese automakers, Changan Automobile, OMR Group – through its subsidiary Crossroad Asia – becomes the first business system from Serbia to obtain exclusive distribution rights for one of the leading Chinese automotive brands in the Western Balkans.
“I am proud of our team, which successfully established such a significant partnership for Serbia and the entire Western Balkan region. By signing a direct strategic agreement with Changan, one of the leading Chinese automakers, OMR Group is opening a new chapter in the development of the automotive industry in the region. Our Automotive division becomes the first distributor from Serbia representing an international automotive brand across multiple Western Balkan markets. We are grateful to Changan for their trust-this is a major step forward not only for our Group but also for the automotive industry in this part of Europe. Within OMR Group, our Automotive division employs a team of 200 professionals and currently represents a portfolio of brands including FIAT, Jeep, Alfa Romeo, Abarth, Jaguar/Land Rover, Isuzu, Subaru, Hyundai, and Kawasaki,” said Ostoja Mijailović, President of OMR Group.
On the occasion of the agreement, Leevon Tian, Deputy General Manager of Changan Automobile’s European business unit, stated: “OMR Group is a respected and rapidly growing player in the automotive and mobility sector in Serbia, with strong local market knowledge and a commitment to innovation. We are proud to introduce advanced Changan technologies and sustainable mobility solutions to Serbian drivers together with OMR Group.”
Changan will launch its operations in Serbia and the Western Balkans this year through a network of new dealerships in major regional cities, featuring two fully electric models: the Changan Deepal S05 and Deepal S07.

Changan implements its “In Europe, for Europe” strategy, focusing on local development and customer-oriented operations across the continent. The company operates a Design Center in Turin, Italy, and a Research & Development Center in Birmingham, UK, dedicated to design, development, adaptation, and training tailored to the European market. In Helmond, Netherlands, Changan is establishing a European spare parts center. This facility will serve as the central distribution hub for the dealership network, enabling fast and efficient delivery of parts and significantly enhancing the customer experience and after-sales support.
Aligned with its global expansion strategy, Changan is already present in Norway, Portugal, and Greece, with sales in Germany and the UK planned by the end of this summer. Changan’s competitive pricing and quality position its models among the most competitive in the market.
With approximately 82,000 employees, Changan sold nearly 2.7 million vehicles worldwide in 2024, exporting to 90 markets. Headquartered in Chongqing, China, Changan is state-owned and ranks among the four largest automotive groups in China, with 41 years of experience in the industry, establishing it as one of the most reputable names in Chinese automotive manufacturing.
